A filter method for nonlinear semidefinite programming with global convergence

In this study, a new filter algorithm is presented for solving the nonlinear semidefinite programming. This algorithm is inspired by the classical sequential quadratic programming method. Unlike the traditional filter methods, the sufficient descent is ensured by changing the step size instead of the trust region radius. Under some suitable conditions, the global convergence is obtained. In the end, some numerical experiments are given to show that the algorithm is effective.     

Complex dynamics in the Leslie–Gower type of the food chain system with multiple delays

In this paper, we present a Leslie–Gower type of food chain system composed of three species, which are resource, consumer, and predator, respectively. The digestion time delays corresponding to consumer-eat-resource and predator-eat-consumer are introduced for more realistic consideration. It is called the resource digestion delay (RDD) and consumer digestion delay (CDD) for simplicity. Analyzing the corresponding characteristic equation, the stabilities of the boundary and interior equilibrium points are studied. The food chain system exhibits the species coexistence for the small values of digestion delays. Large RDD/CDD may destabilize the species coexistence and induce the system dynamic into recurrent bloom or system collapse. Further, the present of multiple delays can control species population into the stable coexistence. To investigate the effect of time delays on the recurrent bloom of species population, the Hopf bifurcation and periodic solution are investigated in detail in terms of the central manifold reduction and normal form method. Finally, numerical simulations are performed to display some complex dynamics, which include multiple periodic solution and chaos motion for the different values of system parameters. The system dynamic behavior evolves into the chaos motion by employing the period-doubling bifurcation.     

Giant Asymmetric Transmission and Circular Dichroism with Angular Tunability in Chiral Terahertz Metamaterials

Inspired by the chiral structure from mode interaction, a chiral terahertz metamaterial and its complementary structure with the coexistence of asymmetric transmission and circular dichroism response are designed. The asymmetric transmission happens in the presence of electric and magnetic modes perpendicular to each other, resulting from intrinsic chirality under normal incidence. Circular dichroism exists in the presence of electric and magnetic modes parallel to each other under oblique incidence because of extrinsic chirality. Both asymmetric transmission and circular dichroism are enhanced by complementary structures, benefitting from the coupling between adjacent units. The maximum of chiral parameter κ can achieve 450, which is one hundred times higher than previously reported. The chiral response can be tuned by the incident angle and is sensitive to the environmental refractive index. The results highlight the potential applications of these metamaterials in chiral sensing and polarization transformation devices.

Ragged oscillation death in coupled nonidentical oscillators

In this paper, the effect of spatial frequencies distributions on the oscillation death in a ring of coupled nonidentical oscillators is studied. We find that the rearrangement of the spatial frequencies may deform the domain of oscillation death and give rise to a ragged oscillation death in some parameter spaces. The usual critical curves with shape V in the parameter space of frequency-mismatch vs coupling-strength may become the shape W (or even shape WV). This phenomenon has been not only numerically observed in coupled nonidentical nonlinear systems, but also well supported by our theoretical analysis.     

Adaptive linear generalized synchronization between two nonidentical networks

In this paper, the linear generalized synchronization between two nonidentical complex dynamical networks is investigated. Both non-delay and delay-coupled complex dynamical networks are studied. By designing effective adaptive controllers, the linear generalized synchronization between two networks with identical and nonidentical topological structures can realize. The feasibility of the proposed scheme is proved in theory and illustrative examples are presented to demonstrate the application of the theoretical results.

The band gap and transmission characteristics investigation of local resonant quaternary phononic crystals with periodic coating

In this article, the investigation of the Lamb wave propagation in two-dimensional phononic crystals (PCs) composed of an array of periodic coating on a thin plate is presented. Compared with the traditional PCs usually consist of cylindrical scatters with uniform coatings in their exterior structure, the newly exterior coating structures with periodic alternant arrangement of two different materials are proposed. The band structures are calculated using finite element method. We discover that a complete band gap can be exhibited at low frequency. Furthermore, for a finite PCs plate, the computed transmission and resonance spectra shown an evident resonance nature which can be directly related to formation of the low-frequency gaps. The effects of different material parameters and arrangement mode of coating on the acoustic energy transmission and attenuation are also studied. Finally, the experimental transmission spectrum of the periodic coating PCs are also presented and compared with the numerical results. This study will provide useful support to the design of tuning band gaps and isolators in the low-frequency range.     

基于FCS的海水痕量元素的通用测定平台

为了对海水痕量营养盐与重金属进行测定,基于FCS的设计思想,采用流动注射分光光度法研制了具有自适应外界设备、快速组建多种仪器及全数字化通信等特点的软硬件一体化的通用测定平台。平台以ARM(S3C2416)处理器为核心,Linux为操作系统,LCD作为人机交互显示,触摸屏或者USB鼠标完成输入控制,构成完整的嵌入式工控机系统;采用CAN总线并制定CAN应用层协议管理设备,提高了系统的可靠性及抗干扰能力。实际测试和应用证明,该平台自动化程度高,通用性、重用性及可扩展性均较强,可组建成亚硝氮、硝氮、氨氮、活性磷、铁等多种痕量元素的实验室、船载和原位分析系统,检测限为nmol/L级别。平台对样品的测试准确度与商品专用仪器无显著性差异。
